One thing I am very conscious about and a reason that I like avoiding too much habit in going to the front brake is this: I have found that in a situation, I might apply the front brake and not release the gas, the result is uncontrolled acceleration (at least unintended).
I don't know if anyone else is that uncoordinated, but I have scared myself a couple of times because of that.
